Tulip Time Festival 2018
Welcome to the celebration and experience known as the Tulip Time Festival! Since 1929, the city of Holland, Michigan area boasts nearly 5 million tulips, planted and ready to burst forth in bloom in early spring. Tulips are located in city parks, at public attractions, and along city streets. Each May, downtown Holland's tulips spring up in vibrant beds of every hue - adorning the main 8th street stretch, filling the Windmill Island Gardens and coloring the curbs of our historic homes along the Tulip Lanes. Tulips are our city's tradition. They're part of the heritage we love to celebrate. The celebration is so much more than tulips...with national entertainment acts, events & activities for all ages, breathtaking sights just off the shores of Lake Michigan and some of the largest parades in Michigan. Tulip Time is truly an experience you don't want to miss! WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL? Unlike many other festivals that take place in a fairground or designated event area, the Tulip Time Festival is located throughout the City of Holland. In the center of town, parades march down 8th Street and Dutch Dancers perform. Throughout the entire City of Holland, parks bloom bright with tulip gardens of every shape and size, and various venues host shows and special events. And you won't want to miss area attractions all within a 7-mile radius of town. Downtown Greater Holland Area Family Friendly Public Restrooms

Civil War Muster and Heritage Days
Each year, Holland hosts "The Civil War Muster and Heritage Days," drawing you further into our state's history and role in the Civil War. The muster takes place at VanRaalte Farm Park, a historic, 160-acre park that was originally farmland around the Civil War era and later purchased by the city of Holland in 1983; making it the perfect location. Eleven acres of the farm (which include the original farm house and two barns) are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The muster will not only feature the reenactment, but two days worth of impressions of historical figures, performances, medical scenarios, period-style vendors, and even a Civil War era church service! It all starts on Saturday at 9 a.m. when the camp opens to the public. By 10 a.m., military drills will start, along with President Lincoln impressions, a medical scenario, a fashion show, dance, and a nighttime fire to conclude the day at 9 p.m. All day long, various events will take place to set the mood for the reenactment battle that takes place on Sunday. Camp opens back up on Sunday at 9 a.m. with a period church service, kid's drills, and more impressions. At 2 p.m. the cannons will fire and the battle will begin. Everything will wrap up by 4 p.m. 2018 - Battle of Gettysburg VanRaalte Farm 1076 East 16th Street Holland, MI 49423
